French Realist Oil on Canvas Cow, Goat Livestock Pastoral Painting Unsigned, Circa 1880

Exquisitely well done, restored and relined French painting of cows and goats in a pastoral landscape, unsigned. This medium size oil on canvas painting dates to the 19th century (frame much later). Adopting a classical diagonal composition, the talented artist depicted cows and goats in the foreground, peacefully resting on the banks of what is possibly an arm of one of France’s rivers, perhaps the Loire or the Rhône.
