Lawrence Heyman was born in 1932. He is an American painter and graphic artist. Heyman earned his bachelor’s degree from A. Tyler from Temple University. In 1960 he went to Paris to study graphic techniques at Atelier 17, where he exhibited graphics and painting for five years. After returning to the United States, he settled in New York and specialized in Manhattan’s scenes. The artist later moved to Providence, Rhode Island. Today, Lawrence Heyman’s art is in the collections of the Brooklyn Museum of Art and the Museum of the City in New York.
Work made on Arches paper. It is a watercolor paper produced only by traditional methods on cylinder presses, thanks to which it has a regular texture. Cotton fibers are evenly distributed, which makes the structure of the paper more stable, resistant to deformation. It is covered with a layer of natural gelatin, so it can be stretched without the risk of tearing. It also maintains the natural intensity and luminosity of colors, except for paints with a natural tendency to penetrate the structure of the paper.
