Art Nouveau Sponge Stand, 1900s

Sponge-holder stand used during the Belle Époque in Parisian bistros to hold water and the sponge used to clean tables. Later used as an ashtray, it is a fine collector’s item.
The ball is in nickel-plated brass and the base is in cast iron. The base is beautifully shaped with moldings and foliage.
This bistro ball will bring a touch of originality and authenticity to your interior.
