The composition is composed of three parts
A column, an overturned cap and the figural sculpture
The column associates the true ocean movement. In it you can see a portrait, at the top a shape similar to the Uroborus, the symbol of the eternal movement in cycles.
Ultimately, the column is an installation with the base of the small sculpture on top.
For the time being, the parts are loose, but they are easy to attach when put together. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity

There two are united in love, you can see the wall of a city in the floor plan.

Art deco patinated terracotta sculpture of a mother and her two children.
the two chubby-cheeked toddlers surround their lovingly smiling mother. She wears her hair short, in keeping with the tomboy hairstyles fashionable in the 1920s.
the rectangular base bears the artist’s signature on one side, “p. Dumont”, and the numbering “60”.
a beautiful representation of maternal tenderness, this terracotta group will seduce you with its gentleness and universal theme.

Standing Buddha Sculpture, 1960s, Wood with Gold Leaf, in Very Good conditions. Designed 1960 to 1969

A beautifully made 1970s Italian glazed ceramic giraffe sculpture. This is a lighter, smaller alternative to the large 1960s terracotta sculptures and so much easier to incorporate in a room design. Hand-decorated with fine details featuring a classic giraffe spotted coat against a white crisp porcelain background. The craftmanship is very nice and elegant.

Decorate a man’s office or library with this vintage spelter dog sculpture. Created in France circa 1950, and set on a oval green variegated marble base, the figure depicts an German Shepherd sitting at attention and panting. The canine sculpture is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich patinated verdigris bronze finish; it would make an interesting addition to a shelf in a library or on top of a desk in a study. A wonderful addition for any ranch house or hunting lodge and perfect for any dog lover.

Great little vintage signed bronze chin dog sculpture. It’s completed in the Japanese Okimono style with incredible detail from his long groomed coat to his playful pout. It is signed with the initials ‘JLS’, and has a felt bottom. This miniature would make delightful company on a vanity or bookshelf.

Decorate an office or a study with this elegant antique bronze figure. Hand crafted in France circa 1880, and titled “Offrande” ( Offering in English), the sculpture stands on a circular concave base plinth with cartouche; the figure depicts a standing maiden lady in Renaissance clothing, and holding a purse of coins in her left hand, while offering a coin with her right hand; wonderful details on the dress, hair and features. The art work is signed by the artist A. Gaudez with the inscription’s cartouche: “Offrande” by A. Gaudez “Hors-Concours”. The Art Nouveau female sculpture is in excellent condition and adorns a beautiful patinated bronze finish with gilt accents throughout.
Adrien Etienne Gaudez (1845-1902), was a French sculptor born in Lyon on February 9, 1845. He produced several monumental figures that were cast in bronze. Gaudez studied sculpture under the tutelage of Francois Jouffroy at the École des Beaux-Arts and in 1870 was a prisoner of war during the Franco-Prussian War. He started at the Paris salon in 1864, getting two medals for his outstanding work. Gaudez died on January 23, 1902 in Neuilly sur Seine. Listed in the Benezit (see last picture).

Dan Kvitka received a degree in Industrial Design from the Arts Center in Pasadena, California in 1977. Kvitka relates, “the immediacy of the lathe, the intensity of hollow work and the striking almost shocking beauty of exotic wood is where I find balance. The significance of the vessel, both functional and decorative, had for millennia attached us to who we are and to where we have come from. Working in wood creating vessels gives me a sense of place within this history and I find the exploration exceptionally exciting.” Kvitka is represented in the public collections of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Smithsonian Institution’s, Renwick Gallery in Washington D.C., and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
