Additional Information:
This secessionist chest of drawers (Vertiko = vertical chest of drawers) is a company design by the renowned cabinetmaker Anton Pospischil (Wiedner Hauptstraße 133, 1050 Vienna). After founding the Wiener Werkstätte, Pospischil realized designs by Prof. Josef Hoffmann and Koloman Moser, among others. A marked key is available and locks all five drawers as well as the small cupboard section. The brass fittings have been finely cleaned – this is a legally protected design (hallmarked: “Ges.Gesch.”). The wooden ball feet were coated with brass. The strict, straight shape and the spherical feet are reminiscent of designs by Hoffmann (Hoffmann School) and Moser in terms of design language.
