When left with an angled piece of wood cut from a piece of furniture or a bowl, Danish craftsmen would typically grab their tools and whittle away until that wood remnant was rendered into a decorative object or sculpture. Call it magical repurposing. This former chunk of wood evolved into a charming duckling with an elongated neck, an open beak clamoring for food, expressive eyes, and each grain of wood has been etched in to give the piece a ribbed finish that indeed are the figurative feathers.
